A cookie is a small string of information that is downloaded and stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. When you visit that website again in the future, the cookie on your computer is sent back to the site. We use cookies to help you move faster through our site, estimate the total number of visitors we receive, and to improve your experience on our site by measuring which pages are most interesting to our users. We use a few third party services called Google Analytics, Google Adwords, and Google Remarketing to collect and analyze anonymous information about our website visitors and their behaviour patterns. This information is processed and stored in a way which does not identify anyone and we make sure that Google does not know, or make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. Data collected by these services includes IP addresses, usage metrics, purchase history, what kind of device our users are browsing on, and other similar information. We use Google Adwords and Remarketing to display advertisments for Coaster Factory and it's services in Google's search results and as part of the Google Display Network. This helps our customers find us more easily on the web and all of this data is anonymous and is not linked to any specific user.
We collect your name, company, address, email, phone/fax number, and IP address when you place an order through our website, upload art or contact us. When placing an order through our Coaster Designer, we'll also ask you for your credit card information which we use to process your transaction through a third-party payment provider. If you choose to use the Facebook or Instagram features of the Coaster Designer, we'll also have access to your Facebook/Instagram photos so that you can use those photos as the artwork for your very own coaster. We use all of this information to connect and communicate with our customers, send special offers, seek opinions and feedback and for our own internal business purposes.
In addition to the information above, credit card information we collect and store when you place an order with us includes the expiry month/year and a truncated version of your credit card number (e.g. the last 4 digits). We collect and store this information in accordance with compliance rules between us and our payment provider and for internal business purposes. We never store your full credit card number or your card's CVV security code. When placing an order online or via our written approval form, you are asked to provide us with your credit card information and we will either clearly state our terms and conditions and privacy policy or provide links to them on our website. If the terms related to the collection and storage of your credit card information change at any time, we will contact you via email or by phone to let you know about those changes.
Occasionally we'll send you an email with a special offer or information about our company. We include a tiny pixel-sized image in these emails which we use to track the number of people who open our messages and we also track clicks on any of the links in those emails so that we can determine what sort of products/services our customers are interested in. These types of tracking methods collect your IP address, the type of browser you're using and what kind of operating system you're running.
We take security very seriously and ensure that all data that is sent to us is done over a secure encrypted connection. We regularly perform maintenance on our servers, take steps to ensure that the information we collect is accurate, complete and up to date, and we implement strict security policies with our staff to make sure your data is always safe. If we learn of a security breach, we'll make sure that we inform you within the first 72 hours so that you can take appropriate protective steps to secure your data. We only ever store personal information for as long as it is absolutely necessary for the operation of our business. Information submitted via forms on our website is also analyzed to detect and prevent spam, and to investigate suspicious and/or malicious activity.
